Mortgage Rates – December 4, 2025

Mortgage rates over the past several weeks have been relatively unchanged with minor movements up and down as the market places their bets on a rate cut in December. This was largely due to mixed economic signals and comments from Fed members since they last met. On Wednesday, a surprise miss in private payroll numbers from ADP all but confirmed a rate cut is coming as our economy shoes more signs of stress.

Rates today are lower as bets are place that next weeks Fed meeting will announce a 25% cut during next weeks final fed meeting of 2025. According to BofA Global Research, two additional 25% basis point cuts are expected in 2026. Our take is to not bet on a stable market in 2026 as this year has proven that economic policy by this administration is anything but boring.
